The Indian government has been accused Thursday of removing an official report about the national unemployment rate. This report said that the rate has never been as high for 45 years. There are 500 million people in active life in India, 30 million of whom are currently unemployed, according to the newspaper The Business Standard, a reputed newspaper, that leaked the report.
The report also says that 11 million jobs were lost in 2018, and 3.5 million from 2016 to 2017 because Prime-Minister Narendra Modi withdrew the majority of banknotes from circulation in 2016 in order to reduce illegal jobs.
The Indian government is trying to hide the small-scale economic crisis it created, but it seems obvious now that the unemployed rate has tripled (~2% to 6%) and many Indians have lost their jobs.

Onze millions d'emplois ont été perdus en 2018, et 3,5 millions de 2016 à 2017 suite à la décision du premier ministre indien Narendra Modi de retirer de la circulation la majorité des petites coupures en 2016 dans le but de lutter contre les emplois illégaux.
Le gouvernement indien essaye tant bien que mal de masquer cette crise économique, mais le taux de chômage a triplé (~2% à 6%) et de nombreux Indiens ont perdu leur emploi.
