Bloodshed in the Kashmir Valley
The region of the Kashmir has been claimed by India and Pakistan since the decolonization in 1947. At the end of the 1980s, a rebellion burst in Cashmere against Indian authority. Cashmere has claims its independence for years against Indian and Pakistani authorities.
Rebellion against India, which had calmed down in last years, deteriorated again dramatically last summer. The streets were filled again with Muslims demonstrators, who shouted songs of freedom against the use of the force and the visit of India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The hospitals were filled again with young men and boys, shot down by the security forces. The protest march was inevitably stopped well before it reached the heavily armed Line of Control between India and Pakistan. Casualties were brought with the urgencies at Srinagar, a city located at the center of Cashmere.
The two countries have not succeeded in building confidence and trust over the past. Each one sees the other as an enemy. Military Troops are everywhere, located behind gun emplacements on every street corner.
My opinion:
The youth of Kashmir must participate in a democratic process and take charge of the political system. That is the only way bloodshed can be stopped in the valley.

Du sang sur le Cachemire
La région du Cachemire est revendiquée par L'Inde et le Pakistan depuis la décolonisation en 1947. A la fin des années 1980, une rébellion a éclaté au Cachemire contre l'autorité indienne. Le Cachemire revendique depuis des années son indépendance, se sentant opprimé par les autorités indienne et pakistanaise.
La rébellion contre l'Inde, qui s'étaient apaisée ces dernières années, s’est de nouveau enflammée durant l'été. Les rues ont été remplies par des manifestants musulmans protestant avec des chants de liberté contre l'usage de la force et la visite de Manmohan Singh, premier ministre de l'Inde.
Les hôpitaux étaient surchargés de jeunes abattus par les forces de sécurité indienne. La manifestation a été inévitablement arrêtée avant qu'elle n’ait atteint la Ligne de Contrôle fortifiée entre l'Inde et Le Pakistan. Les morts et les blessés ont été rapatriés aux urgences de Srinagar, ville située au centre du Cachemire.
Les deux pays n'ont toujours pas réussi à restaurer un climat de confiance au cours des dernières années et les militaires restent omniprésents.
Mon opinion :
La jeunesse de Cachemire doit participer à un processus démocratique et investir le champ politique. C'est la seule façon d’arrêter le carnage dans la vallée.
